I am writing to wholeheartedly and full-throatedly recommend Jonathan Hochberg’s Reiki services. I was facing surgery to have about 12 inches of my colon resected due to chronic Diverticulitis. This was after a yearlong battle with multiple rounds of antibiotics and infections. My lifestyle had completely changed and I was worn out. By the time surgery was scheduled, I was full of anxiety and uncertainty about whether I chose the best surgeon, the right course of action, the right technology (the surgeon chose to use the DaVinci robot to perform the surgery), etc. I began having panic attacks and losing my breath. I spoke with Jonathan and he recommended giving me a Reiki treatment. During the treatment I became deeply relaxed. However, I also was able to visualize a successful outcome for my surgery after subtle suggestions from Jonathan. I visualized waking up in Intensive Care as the nurse was standing over me saying, “You did great!” All of a sudden, my anxiety dissolved. I carried this calm demeanor into my surgery a few days later and the outcome occurred just as scripted! I can’t recommend Jonathan’s Reiki treatment strongly enough for any patient, nurse or doctor who desires more calm, balance and clarity.

As a result of learning about the calming and healing powers of Reiki though Jonathan, after my recent breast cancer diagnosis, I turned to Reiki again. In fact, the day of my mastectomy at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, I had a Reiki session offered by a Reiki master on staff, which allowed me to go into surgery with an intense calmness of mind which I believe contributed to my rapid healing. I had very little inflammation and returned to yoga within a month after surgery. Reiki is the universal life-energy that flows all around us and through us. I went to see Jonathan because my mouth had gotten infected and it was taking a long time to heal. When I arrived for my treatment he went through a thorough assessment. We covered what was going on with me physically, emotionally and spiritually as they are all connected and play an important role for our holistic health. I shared that there were some challenges I had in my life at the time that were causing me stress and it was affecting my health. Jonathan then explained how the treatment would go and answered my questions. He has a natural ability to go at a pace that is comfortable for you and where you feel completely at ease knowing that you are in good hands.

The treatment was very enjoyable. I went into a deep state of relaxation. During the treatment I could feel the energy being directed at certain parts of my body and the healing taking place. For example, before the treatment I wasn't able to smile for a whole week due to the pain in my mouth. Immediately after the treatment I was able to smile and I could feel the infection was almost gone.

After the treatment we had a debriefing session where we discussed how I felt, any changes I noticed and any new awareness I had. He went on to share how I could enhance those changes through lifestyle modifications that would support my physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Jonathan has an incredible depth of knowledge about the body and how to support it in order to live a healthy and happy life.
